User-friendly Environment for Virtual Endoscopy
Virtual endoscopy has recently arisen as a powerful diagnostic tool for examining the interior structures of bronchus, colon, and etc. In contrast to optical endoscopy that is invasive, virtual endoscopy is non-invasive and thus it is comfortable to patients. In addition, while the optical endoscopy enables observers to examine the hollow structures in the direction that the camera moves, the v...
متن کاملCluster Flow: A user-friendly bioinformatics workflow tool
Pipeline tools are becoming increasingly important within the field of bioinformatics. Using a pipeline manager to manage and run workflows comprised of multiple tools reduces workload and makes analysis results more reproducible. Existing tools require significant work to install and get running, typically needing pipeline scripts to be written from scratch before running any analysis. We pres...
متن کاملA User-Friendly Texture-Fitting Methodology for Virtual Humans
This paper describes a methodology for applying textures interactively to a 3D object, taking into account its topological features. A user-friendly interface based on this allows the user to evaluate the consequences on the 3D object of manipulating the 2D texture in real time. As a case study, we have applied this methodology to re-create the terra-cotta texture of virtual soldiers from Xian.
متن کاملA framework and workflow system for virtual screening and molecular docking
Virtual Screening and molecular docking usually require a large number of diverse and often incompatible programs. Problems arise when different programs require dissimilar file formats, are not available due to license issues, or have to be used in very different kind of ways. Furthermore, data is commonly not stored consistently and information about which tools were applied on which datasets...
متن کاملVirtual-screening workflow tutorials and prospective results
The first challenge in the 2014 competition launched by the Teach-Discover-Treat (TDT) initiative asked for the development of a tutorial for ligand-based virtual screening, based on data from a primary phenotypic high-throughput screen (HTS) against malaria. The resulting Workflows were applied to select compounds from a commercial database, and a subset of those were purchased and tested expe...
